Razer Vespula Review

The dual-sided Razer Vespula™ Gaming Mouse Mat provides two distinct gaming-grade surfaces on an abrasion-resistant hard coat to suit your preferred level of gaming glide — SPEED for smoother fast-paced action that maximizes freedom of movement; and CONTROL for ultra-precise movements and tactile feedback with its textured surface, allowing you to adjust your mousing surface to any specific gameplay-requirements with incredible ease. Extended gaming sessions are now possible with its memory conformance wrist rest that is designed to reduce fatigue for additional performance enhancing advantage over the competition. Take the fight to your enemies’ doorsteps with the Razer Vespula. The Razer Vespula’s dual surfaces have been developed for enhanced tracking by the same scientists at Razer that have invented the most precise gaming mice in the world today. Professional gamers have also put the Razer Vespula through thousands of hours of intense gameplay to validate the tracking surfaces for tournament play.

Thats why razer says. Let see put that to the test!

The razer Vespula size is pretty decent could be a little bigger though. It is exactly 300mm (length) x 240mm (width) x 4 mm (height). It comes in 2 parts. The mouse pad itself and a gel wristpad which doubles as an anti slip back. Which is always a plus. Knowing your mouse pad be in on spot and not moving around when gliding around the pad.

Lets get started! First off right when you un box the mouse pad from the package. You Instantly this thing means business, on one side its sliky smooth and the other a little rougher for those precise aiming. The speed side is nothing but slick. I can't its this smooth. Gently pushing the death adder around the Vespula, you can two different demons, On the speed side you're on ice. Precision side is just 'precise'. The precisions side takes more pressure to get the cursor around the screen about double comparing to the speed side. Paring this up with the deathadder(1800DPI) you really makes you feel like in control. whether your on the precision or speed.

Let's put this up to the test.

Comfort- 2/5

With the included mouse pad it very uncomfortable. I prefer not even having it there. The Jell wrist rest is little too hard, after long sessions it does get little more comfortable but i guess that just state of mind. The wrist rest work and does it job, Resting your wrist on. But its uncomfortable.

Performance- 4/5

The vespula does make up for the comfortable, The two sides are very noticeable. You can easily tell even if your grandma can. Trust me. The precision side found that does a very good job, i almost prefer this side. In heavy gun fights, or couple hundred meters back, taking your enemies heads off. Its a ease to align your shots up. With the Speed side shines in fast paced shooters, games such as quake makes and takes advantage of this side like no tomorrow. That split second lining up your shot means life or death. Well you almost have that split second, thanks the razer. It lives up to there sogan, Get the unfair advantage. The down side of this is speed slide wears out pretty fast. The precision after a long sessions slowly eats away your mouse feet. In DICE's Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the Vespula help me improve my overall KDR.

Value- 4/5

For $40 CDN, i can't say that it been my best $40 i ever spent, But i can't say i'd been ripped off either. Its more of do you want the advantage and willing to spend the money for a premium mouse pad or not. If you say not then i highly suggest you go look at something else. This isn't the product for you.

Overall- 3/5
Overall this mouse pad is a product i'd buy again and recommend to anyone who is looking for decent size mouse pad. This mouse pad was a good investment. I don't regret dropping another $40 on for this mouse pad.
